Dubai-based Tashkeel opens showcase for its Tanween by Tashkeel Collection at Dubai Global Connect
Dubai Global Connect (DGC), the mega-scale B2B wholesale market being built by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, has welcomed Tashkeel at its Visitor Centre in Dubai South.
Tashkeel, established in Dubai in 2008 by Her Highness Sheikha Lateefa bint Maktoum, seeks to provide a nurturing environment for the growth of contemporary art and design practice rooted in the UAE.
Tanween is an intensive development programme at Tashkeel for innovative emerging designers working in the UAE. The programme is structured and founded on core attitudes, parameters and values: empathy to people, objects and environments; a focus on skills, materials and production processes innate to the region; an intention to trigger cross-cultural dialogues and experimentation; and an insistence on authenticity and rigour in both design and production.
The showcase at DGC will display unique furniture and home décor pieces from the Tanween by Tashkeel collection on a rotating basis. New products will be displayed every few months to ensure interior designers and other industry professionals will be able to experience the entire collection over the next 12 months.
